1of1 week 2 Music Core, Inkigayo and Mini Fanmeeting

Weekend was super hectic and amazing and now I'm back at work and can take a rest....not really work is super busy OTL In any case the rushing around and lack of sleep was totally worth it cause I had an amazing weekend and a tonne of fun.

So this is week 2 of 1of1 promotions. I'm going to write another post about last week but hardly anything happened so it's gonna be boring and that's cramping my style right now. Right now I'm full of joy and energy and want to write about something fun.

Spectrum Dance Festival 2016

I was kind of not feeling the blog writing experience with the last few I wrote, but I'm actually really excited to write about the 2016 Spectrum Dance Festival. To preface, I've only been to a rock festival before this and that was the Ansan Rock Festival which, full disclosure, I went to because Key was performing as a collaboration with Axodus singing Hold On. So this was my first dance music festival ever and only the second music festival I've ever been too.

SHINee 2016 Comeback 1of1 blog post compilation

Masterlist
My goal for this comeback is to write about every event I attend, even if it's just briefly so these are links to posts about every SHINee event for their comeback period of 2016 1of1. I started at their first Fall festival and I'll keep adding posts until we move into a new era I guess~

2016 Music Bank Gangnam Festival

Every year around this time in Gangnam they block off the main street outside Coex and set up a huge stage for Gangnam Festival. It's without fail total chaos and the view is usually awful because there are trees and light poles all up and down the street. Logistically it must be a nightmare but they do it every year regardless so respect for their resilience I guess.

INK 2016 - SHINee~

Saturday spent the entire day in Incheon attending the Incheon K-pop Concert where SHINee performed last. In keeping with my vow to write about everything from these promotions, here we go~

SHINee at the Olympic....Pep Rally?

I have a new resolution this SHINee comeback/festival season. I really want to write at least a little on my blog about every SHINee event I go to. Too often I've started writing these long involved blog posts about SHINee events and then never had the time to finish them so now they're super late and I can't remember all the fine details. Not this time! So in the spirit of getting straight into it, I though I'd write briefly about SHINee's appearance at the 2018 Pyeongchang Olympic....Festival? In Korean it was called a concert for 성공기원 which means hoping for success or something like that. Of course in English the 2018 Olympic Hope for Success concert sounds really strange so I guess it's kind of like a K-pop concert pep rally?

SHINee World Concert V

SHINee World Concert V is over and I'm back at work which is very very disappointing after the weekend we've just had. Fortunately Chuseok Holiday is next week so I only need to soldier on through the next few days!

Jonghyun 좋아 Showcase

Long time no write! I'm really excited to write a blog post about Jonghyun's showcase last night because was such an unexpected surprise. For some context, Jonghyun's first full length album is out this week and last week SM announced Jonghyun would be having a showcase Monday 23rd before the midnight release of the album. The thing with showcases is they're notoriously very difficult to get into. SM basically did this bizarre thing where they did ticketing via yes24 and then selected only 250 of the 500 people who got tickets. When I first saw this I thought I wasn't reading properly but then I remembered the shit show of people scalping tickets for hundreds of dollars for Taemin's showcase and realized this was a round-a-bout way of SM discouraging scalpers no doubt.

Save the Green Earth

Kim Kibum's newest project gets a 10 out of 10, would do again rating from me~ Key's performance of Byeonggu in Save the Green Earth debuted April 12 here in Korea and man was it a rough ride. This play is really confronting and then hysterical in the same breathe so I found myself getting a bit of emotional whiplash from all the insanity on stage.

Things I took away from Key's The Moment lecture

This is another post I wrote a long time ago and never made public because I didn't finish a conclusion. I wrote it in November the day after Key's The Moment fashion lecture. I'm posting it now because Key is just...I had such a hard time putting into words how humbled and inspired and emotional I felt after hearing him speak at this lecture. It was such a special event and I often think about things he said at this when I'm feeling discouraged or down and need something to keep me going.

Taemin Fanmeet

Taemin promotions for Press Your Number are over. Which is a little surreal and sad because just yesterday we were lightheartedly saying we were looking forward to resting now that promotions are over and now I wish we were going to more promotions this week.

SHINee 7th Anniversary Picnic

Prefacing this post: I wrote a large portion of this the day of SHINee's 7th Anniversary Picnic cruise after I got home and rather than editing it I'm just going to leave as it is and then add on the end ^.^ Here we go:

The Story by Jonghyun Epilogue

It's been such a long time since I've written here! I started writing something about Key's The Moment lecture but I was suddenly swamped and never finished. Hopefully I can dedicate some time to writing that up later. In any case, here we are post Jonghyun's Epilogue concert! As many of you already know, Jonghyun performed 12 solo concerts back in October titled The Story and this weekend just gone he put on an additional 5 shows which brings his total to a phenomenal 17 shows worth of joy, misery, wonder and just plain old emotion.

SHINee fandom - English Speakers

I got this question via ask and since it's so long I thought I'd put my answer here since I think it's a really interesting question.

10 Music Show Recording No-nos

I started writing this a few weeks ago during View promotions, but it got a little away from me and I needed to take a breather from it. Since it's summer break and a lot of tourists are here and looking to head to music shows, especially with SHINee's repackage 'Married to the Music' coming up, this is probably good timing for this anyway. So here we have it, your master post on rules when attending Korean music show recordings. I feel like this is really important to address because lately we've been having a lot of problems with rule breaking at music shows.

9 reasons photo taking is banned at SHINee events

Moving right into post number 2 for the day. Another one important for fans visiting Korea and wanting to go to events. I think it's something a lot of people online struggle with as well and that's why we are not supposed to take photos and post them online at certain events.

I know this upsets a lot of people and it feels like the staff and fans in Korea are purposely trying to not include international fans but honestly this is NOT the case at all. This rule is not at all motivated by any desire to not share things or not include anyone. As an example; the fansites in Korea make their money selling their goods to mostly international fans, so of course they're all about spreading photos online when it's allowed. But here's some reasons photo taking is generally forbidden:

SHINee does care about fans

There are a million things I'd rather be writing after SHINee's goodbye weekend but seems there's a situation that needs some justifying ^.^;;; The fan system in Korea is really really complicated and while it's possible to have a shallow understanding from other online sources, since it's summer and I know a lot of people are hoping to visit and see SHINee at this time I feel like this is important information for not only people planning to go to events but also for fans online who are confused about why drama arises in certain situations. I think I'm going to pump out a few posts
covering a few topics this morning hopefully but here's number 1. This is a case example of how the system has been painfully misunderstood.

BOLD FOR THE TLDR

Regarding this dumbass article translation

So overnight kpopfans blog vlah thing posted a translated naver article about how a source says that a boy group member has come out as gay to his group members and all of them suspected it since before debut. The group is meant to be known well for synchronized choreography.

SHINee's Tokyo Dome

I started writing this post weeks ago and honestly I've been really frustrated with it. I'm just kind of posting, even though there's more I'd like to say, but at this point I think it's just mad ramblings. A lot happened in the space of two days and it was an amazing amazing experience, so I think I'm struggling to put it into words well. Please forgive me for not writing something more interesting or eloquent~

Jonghyun Base Fan Meeting

As most people reading would probably know Jonghyun debuted with his solo album Base this week and Sunday was his first Inkigayo stage as well as his first solo fanmeeting.
